The UK Conservative Party

The UK Conservative Party would be described by its opponents as being right wing but that is no longer the case. In theory it is the party of business that believes in Capitalism but in practice it is now a party of the centre with no beliefs other than hoping that by bumbling along doing nothing very much it might get re-elected in late 2024. Some chance.

Under Margaret Thatcher, the party did genuinely believe in Capitalism for a while and so did many of its most enthusiastic adherents but it is doubtful whether many of its Members of Parliament were true believers.

Right now as I write this, the Conservative Government is getting organised to "stop inflation" by adding yet more regulation on the sellers of Food and Fuel. Even the proponents of Capitalism (ie the Conservative Party) don't understand how markets work and like the Labour party they think that the key to low prices is yet more regulation.

The Conservative Party is often referred to as the Tory Party with a hint of malice - as in "Tory Scum".

There is nothing more unpleasant than a Labour supporter spitting with hatred and envy - the driving forces of socialism, along with a good helping of hypocrisy and moral superiority
