Have you ever heard of Bear Grylls? Ex SAS man? TV star? The Chief Scout? Well, of course you have. So how did he become famous? Here's a clue.

Bear Grylls is the son of the MP Sir Michael Grylls and this is his sister Lara, who gave him the name "Bear"

Lara Grylls, Chief Executive of PR First: "Lara has spent over 25 years in the interiors PR industry, founding her first agency, Lara Grylls PR, at the tender age of just 23 ... blah, blah, blah"

Have you worked it out yet?

And while we are on the subject, how come you have heard of the SAS rather than the SBS (Special Boat Squadron)? Well, the SAS was "founded" by David Stirling, son of Brigadier General Archibald Stirling, of Keir, and Margaret Fraser daughter of the Lord Lovat (a descendant of Charles II)

David Stirling had the brilliant idea of sending highly trained but lightly armed men into the desert to disrupt the German* forces in North Africa. After his first raid was a total fiasco he discovered that the LRDG ( Long Range Desert Group) were already doing what he had planned to do with the SAS, only doing it properly. But Stirling had incredibly good PR and the LRDG did not. So he took them over and changed the name. Just like that.

So who made Bear Grylls famous? Answers on a Postcard please.

I would write more but I need to go outside and throw up

* These days, the BBC never refer to the Germans as "Germans" in the second world war - they are always "NAZIS". Now NAZI is an abbreviation for National Socialist German Workers' Party. So, fair enough, it is important to remember that the NAZIS were SOCIALISTS. And thanks to the BBC for reminding us that the NAZIS were SOCIALISTS.

So, whatever you do, don't forget that the NAZIS were SOCIALISTS - just like Jeremy Corbyn. In the Second World war we were bombed by Socialist Bombers and defended by Tory Spitfires and Tory Hurricanes.
