Slavery and Murder

Abolition of the African Slave Trade

This abominable trade was abolished.in the British Empire in 1807 mainly thanks to the efforts of the conservative British politician William Wilberforce. If you want to see close up evidence go to the Wilberforce House Museum in Hull. I have been there several times.

His efforts on behalf of the slaves were so appreciated by the British Establishment that on his death he was buried in Westminster Abbey. - the ultimate accolade for a British citizen

After 1807 the primary role of the British navy was devoted to the suppression of the slave trade.

The Numbers

According to the National Archives "it is estimated that Britain transported 3.1 million Africans (of whom 2.7 million arrived) to the British colonies in the Caribbean, North and South America and to other countries.

So 400,000 slaves died out of 3.1 million. Dreadful.

The Communist Slaves

People under communism were efectively slaves - if you tried to leave you would be shot. So there were about a billion or so communist slaves of whom about 100 million were murdered by their own leaders. The mass murdering stopped in about 1980.

But low level murdering still takes place in North Korea and Cuba - the last bastions of communism. In fairness, they only murder a few thousand per month now.

Summary

Slavery and Communism

So the communists were about 200 times more murderous and a 150 years more recent than the slave traders

Appalling - how do these people sleep at night? Never mind chucking statues into rivers ...
